Issue #202
Hi Friend,
In my previous newsletter I announced that in celebration of our sixth anniversary we have introduced a new monthly membership. To find out more please visit our Membership Options page.
Today I have the pleasure of announcing two more new initiatives!
1. Online Orientation Sessions We understand that joining SparePartsKnowHow.com can be a little daunting. With our range of training courses, extensive content, online coaching, and additional resources you might be asking yourself questions such as: - Where do I start?
- What’s the best way to navigate through the library?
- Which training course is right for me?
- How do I access the Online Coaching?
- How do I use the Best Practice Framework?
- What do I get access to?
To help answer these questions we will now hold regular, live, online orientation sessions.
These sessions are primarily designed to show new members how to take best advantage of their membership but are open to everyone - new and existing members plus anyone considering joining. Places are limited and preference will be given to existing members.
2. Monthly Discussion Groups Starting January 2018, each month we will hold a group discussion session that focusses on one specific aspect of spare parts inventory management. These sessions provide the opportunity to gain deeper insight into that topic and to ask your specific questions. This is also an opportunity to tap into the broad experience of other SparePartsKnowHow.com members. Please note that these session are strictly 'members only'.

New Article: Getting Your (Inventory Cash off the Shelf)
Imagine walking into a storeroom or warehouse and finding the shelves stacked high with cash.
Ten thousand dollars on one shelf, two thousand on another. A storage bin filled with 10 dollar notes over there. Everything neatly labelled and catalogued.
Like a bank vault in a movie, except that everything is on display.
Of course, you know that I am not literally talking about cash, I am talking about spare parts inventory.
The reality is that in asset-intensive organizations, spare parts that are kept for equipment repairs and maintenance, behave just like cash on the shelf. Once you buy them they lose value. Rapidly.
