Members Only: Course and Content Update
September 2018

Hi Friend,

Welcome to the September 2018 edition of our Members Only newsletter.

This month I want to highlight some changes that you will soon see at SparePartsKnowHow.com.

Training Courses
We are improving the range and access to both existing and new courses.
  • Changes to existing training courses: You may have noticed recently that we have changed some of the site navigation. Shortly you will see that we are changing the structure of our courses and modules. Each course and module will be split into a series of individual 'lessons'. This is precursor to us introducing a Learning Management System (LMS) in the New Year.
  • New training courses: The first of these will focus on Storeroom Management and will be far more in-depth than the current module (which is part of the Spare Parts Management Certificate). This will be followed by a series of courses targeting service parts management.
  • Access to individual courses: It is clear to us that some people want access to just one course or they want team members to only access one course. This will require changes to our membership structure (see below)
Membership Structure
Currently we offer one level of membership and this is only split by duration (12 months or 4 months). To provide members with greater choice we are going to split this into three levels. These will be:
  • Individual short courses - access to one short course at a time
  • Individual certificate programs - access to individual certificate courses
  • Full access and support - access to everything
As you will expect each membership level will have a different level of access to the range of features at SparePartsKnowHow.com.

Importantly: Your access under your current membership will not change. Those of you who are on an auto-renewal or corporate membership will continue with the same high level of access until you decide to end that membership.

New Services
We are currently working with an outside provider to include a series of Skills Gap Analysis tools at SparePartsKnowHow.com. Most immediately we are looking at tools to assess skills and know-how in Supply Chain Management and Procurement.

I personally worked through both of these and was 'blown away' at how extensive and complete they are.
Look out for the announcement.

Importantly: These new servcies will not be covered by your existing membership.
However, you will still be able to access our Best Practice Framework (which we are renaming as our Operational Gap Analysis)

Virtual Round Table
Each month I highlight the Virtual Round Table sessions as this is your opportunity to participate in a live, online, forum involving other members (and me!). This gives you the chance to hear what others are doing and to share your own experiences.

The sessions are held in the second week of each month and to cover the time zones of our global membership we hold two sessions. Please note that you do need to register 24 hours in advance to attend.

Under our new arrangement these will now be an 'Ask Phill' open mike. Come along and ask any question you like!

You can check the session times (and register) here.

These sessions are only as good as the people who participate so your participation is encouraged.

Keep on improving!
