On Tuesday night of this week, just as I was about to being my monthly Inside Out Empowerment Call, weird things begin to happen. Usually on my conference calls, I connect with my listening audience by phone and online. The online feature make it easy for me to mute out all participants and then begin recording as I teach. Well, just as everyone was calling in, my internet went down.
At that time, I thought, “I can beat this, I’ll just use another service that I have to record the call from my phone. I greeted everyone on the call from my phone and then asked them to hold while I started the recording. The recording started, but somehow it separated me from the listeners. I thought the call line was just muted, so I proceeded to teach.
My topic was the “Power of Persistence.” When I reached the end of my teaching, I noticed that the recording had stop, so I restarted it, and was then instantly reconnected with everyone who was still patiently waiting for my return. I had no idea that I had been talking to myself for a whole hour. No one had heard a word that I had spoke. I’ve used my phone to record conference calls hundreds of times and that disconnect had never happen before. This was adversity in the weirdest kind of way. Two unrelated technical issues, how odd! My persistence was truly being tested. I immediately called the 20 participants who had been waiting on the conference line to apologize for the inconvenience and told them that I was persisting forward and would redo the call on this Thursday, February 25th (Tonight) at 9pm EST. Obviously, the Power of Persistence teaching will be a blessing to a lot of people, otherwise the adversity wouldn’t have been so great.
I want to double the participants for the call tonight. There is a spiritual enemy who desires to defeat any attempt of good that will benefit others. Anything that is worth having or doing, there will be some measure of resistance between you and that “thing” that you want to be, do, or have. The ideas that you have are worth pursuing. The dreams or goals that you have can be attained if you don’t give up. Listen in and learn how to persist in spite of the resistance.
