Thanks for joining us on week 9 of 10 week Find Calm journey.
In week 9, we use our Clever Minds to “send a corrective message to ourselves”. Mark Twain said “I’ve heard of a great many troubles, but most of them never happened”… When we experience trauma, we may get stuck in a loop where we project the past terrible events into the future or present leading to an ongoing cycle of emotional distress.
The new challenge is to: Say to yourself “If I slow down and reflect, I can figure out the best solution to this” … even if the best solution is that “to let go of the old pain or wound”. Add this additional thought, “I can get out of the worry about the future or fearful thoughts about the past and be in this moment, right now”.
So challenge yourself to be in this moment right now and not in the past or some anticipated future fearful moment in the future.
The challenge for the next 7 days is to truly “Send a Corrective Message to Yourself”.
