Keeping your Joy simple after trauma can mean the difference between feeling rejuvenated or depletion.

I was asked to go on an Action Packed Fun Day ... doing a lot of super fun things ... apparently.

My version of the story is somewhat different .. I realized that I needed a day to decompress and unwind and lose myself in time, give myself a little space to do just what my heart desired. Sometimes this is exactly the opposite of an action packed super active and supposedly fun day.
Initially, I felt guilty and frustrated that in fact I wasn't joining my friends and I knew they were disappointed. I felt a little bad about letting others down.

What I learned from this is that JOY is something deeply held and we sometimes need to give ourselves time to let this sense of JOY to unfold slowly in its own time - slowly. Embracing a moment of quiet .. taking the time to do what feels right with no pressure to have fun ... just let time unfold and this can be incredibly rejuvenating after trauma.

RECAP
1. Adventure filled "FUN" action packed days are not always the right thing
2. Sometimes you just have to listen to your own pace and time to rejuvenate and feel well within yourself.
3. You might have to let other people down but sometimes what you really need is to PUT yourself first and embrace your own pace
4. Keeping your pace simple may open up a sense of simple Joy for you today
