Dear Friend,
April 23rd marks the one-year anniversary of the Yonge Street Tragedy in the Willowdale neighbourhood. In honour of the victims and the injured, Trauma Practice for Healthy Communities will join the community effort along with the City of Toronto, We Love Willowdale, Victim Services Toronto, Tyndale Family Life Center, and St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dog Services.
We are gathering throughout the day for gentle conversations on Resiliency, Support and Recovery after trauma. Using the power of communal and group programs we are on April 23rd, and every day, combatting trauma and isolation together with our clinician-led therapeutic tools and resources.
Trauma Practice will bring up to 8 volunteer team members in support of this community event.
President and Founder Dr. Anna Baranowsky, felt it was the right time to offer our services in this public setting.
"Healing after trauma demands many acts of kindness –
showing up makes the difference between isolation and connection."
~Dr. Anna Baranowsky
Join us at Mel Lastman Square on April 23rd to see our teams in action and to take part in community healing and reflection.
Your continued and generous support to Trauma Practice is what makes days like this for community action possible. We are reaching out to create healing communities and social networks that build and establish support where it counts most.
A one time, or monthly contribution allows us to reach out to vulnerable community members who are falling through the cracks. Click here to make a donation today.
It takes a community to heal.
Sincerely,
Ya’ara Saks
