Ask Dr. Anna

There is a big change in your breath after trauma.  You can learn to retrain your body reaction to stressful reminders of a trauma or what Dr. Baranowsky calls a "trigger".  By slowing down the reaction and asking yourself "Is there real danger right now" is a powerful way of changing our powerful response to trauma reminders.  Training your breath gives you access to the ability to be more reflective and less reactive to trauma reminders and that is real Power after trauma.  Work every day on your trauma recovery and make each day count.
