I'm sat in the kitchen with the High Performance Podcast, listening to a legend of the game James Milner.

If you don't know who James Milner is then where have you been. He basically broke into the Leeds team at 16 and has played in nearly every position for some of the biggest clubs in English football. Working tirelessly for the team and is still playing Premier League football at age 37.

A HUGE achievement.

Something struck a chord with me, he was asked about why he has had such a long career at the top of the game. He said 'When I got called up for England I had joined Man City, everywhere I looked I was thinking wow these players are a lot better than me. The step up in quality was huge!'

He was now sharing a dressing room with players like Yaya Toure, Vieria.

Players who have won everything. Who came not only with talent but big personalities.

But Milner didn't hide...

He asked himself...

• What are they doing that I am not?

• What can I learn from them?

• How can I apply that to my own game? 

That's the key to his success. Always looking at what he can learn from those around him, how he can apply it to his own game.

He went on to say he tracks everything (how many of you track your performance?)

It's the exact same with trading. I was just looking through the forum and seeing how our members are doing them same thing.

They come into Betfair Trading Community and see traders who are doing better than them, but with zero egos in our community they can ask questions, learn and most importantly apply some of that to their own trading.

They take that and put their ideas into the stats software and start building profitable strategies.

I am not saying that you should follow anybody else, that's not what we are.

What we are is a community of traders who will share what they are doing so you can apply it to your trading.

Just like with what Milner did, he looked around learned from the better players then he tracked everything he did.

There's no surprise he is still playing at the highest level is there?
