All those people who said I can’t trade are right ;) Well kinda… 

I’ve mentioned many times that this is a project, something new to me and I am learning a ton. I think the first thing to mention is that if I used something like Betfair Bot Manager I would actually be making money. 

Last month I spoke about the advanced API which we are just getting set up which is why the bot is off. 

Then I will be sticking with the lay 3rd fave strategy as that brought in some great profit (£43.64) but the other 3 strategies hit the bank and have put me in the loss that I am now in. 

Delving into the losses it’s become clear that I need the advanced API as I am currently on the free delayed one and it's missing the prices and effectively trading the wrong selections. 

It’s not that the strategy isn’t working, it's the tech. 

Reading this you might just say ‘Well Ryan why the hell wouldn’t you just use Betfair Bot Manager?!’ 

That’s a great and just question. But what’s come out of this project already from the way we have done it is that Adam and I are working closely on the software we have at Betfair Trading Community and this bot, which is making the stats and backtesting software better. 

Which is only a good thing, right? For you it is. 

So I can go without my truffle oil, champagne truffles and Dom Perrignon for a few months. I joke. 

This hurts, but it had to, I could use that software but in order for me to really do this, to really make our stats software better and help you I had to get the full in-depth understanding of how all this works. 

Then when I share more I will actually be able to help as I know the nuts and bolts of it. Some will laugh at this approach, but it’s thorough. It’s the way I had to do it. 

I am not saying or have ever said that anybody has to trade the way I do. I am just sharing my learnings. 

One huge plus from this as well is that Adam’s been telling me some stuff and I have gone ‘dude, this is insane you need to write this up not me or you need to do that as a video.’ 

So that’s exactly what’s going to happen, Adam is going to start writing to you as well updating you from his end about this project! 

Which is only a good thing as boy does that man know his way around automation and Betfair.

The next steps for me will be: 

• Turn the lay 3rd fave back on as it was working on delayed, I will most likely test that for a few days first. 

• Get an advanced API set up and then do the same test the strategies and turn them on.
