Electronic
control units (ECUs) for safety critical systems have been successfully
developed for decades. In the last years ADAS and autonomous driving leads to
an increasing number of software components and microprocessor cores in such
systems. More and more customers are asking us about a methodology to consider
different aspects of timing in complex safety critical systems in an efficient,
practical and well-proven way |
|
| | An
excellent starting point for this topic is a joint paper with Hella published
in the proceedings of the Embedded Real-Time Software and Systems Congress. Described
is “a model-based approach focusing on complex end-to-end data flows typically
encountered in safety-critical automotive control applications”. In addition, the
paper illustrates “how real-time simulation models can be utilized to guide
design decisions, and help to achieve safety goals defined at system level”.
