Dear Friend,
Embedded Systems Week (ESWEEK) is the premier event covering all aspects of embedded systems and software. By bringing together three leading conferences (CASES, CODES+ISSS, EMSOFT), a special track on Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), a symposium (NOCS) and several workshops and tutorials, ESWEEK allows attendees to benefit from a wide range of topics covering the state of the art in embedded systems research and development.

We are pleased to inform you that our colleague Helmar Wieland will be holding a tutorial at Embedded Systems Week, October 13th, 2:00pm - 6:00pm, Furman Hall 210 in New York together with the following speakers:
  • Dirk Ziegenbein - Robert Bosch GmbH, Renningen, Germany
  • Rafik Henia - Thales Research and Technology, Paris, France
  • Selma Saidi - Hamburg Univ. of Technology, Germany
Autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems represent the biggest challenge for the evolution of present-day automotive architectures.  Complex data and control flows with hard real-time requirements extending over many different sensors, ECUs, and actuators require state-of-the-art design and verification tools that help OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to achieve their project goals on time and on budget. These tools need to consider, that the target software’s execution behavior on heterogeneous, distributed multi-core systems is also heavily dependent upon its concurrent use of shared hardware resources. In this tutorial, we will present a model-based approach for the real-time simulation of these modern systems. Using the example of a multi-sensor autonomous driving system modeled with AMALTHEA, two of the big challenges commonly faced by engineers are addressed: optimization of end-to-end latencies and the impact of heavily loaded interconnects and memory buses on system performance.
