SPECIAL IGNITE | Light the Fire Again!
WHAT: Witness, Word and Worship in the Presence of Jesus Christ.
WHEN: Thursday, September 27, 6:30-8pm
WHERE: St. Rose, Perrysburg
“I have come to set fire to the earth,
and how I wish it were already ablaze." (Luke 12:49)
On Pentecost five years ago over 350 experienced a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ at our first IGNITE. We heard powerful testimonies of conversion. We processed with candles to the Burning Bush. Jesus Christ, the Lord of the Universe, was exposed. All entered more deeply into uplifting worship and silent prayer. A multitude received healing, strength and forgiveness through Confession.
Since then, well over 150 IGNITE's have taken place at 25 parishes throughout the Toledo Diocese. Over 20,000 "encounters" with Jesus Christ.
God is with us. He wants to work even more powerfully. Many equate IGNITE with stories of marriage and relational transformation, chains of addiction broken, epic conversion from non-belief, Judaism and even Islam to Catholicism, and numerous stories of miraculous physical healing, even terminal illness. "You will do even greater things...." (John 14:12)
From the very beginning, the heart of IGNITE was not another program, another event, another fleeting moment... but an awakening to who we fundamentally are in Jesus Christ. IGNITE is about a living encounter with Jesus Christ leading to an authentic, contagious overflow of grace. Our purpose is God's purpose: personal, marriage, family, parish and regional revival. "Streams of living water will flow...." (John 7:38)
The very heart of IGNITE is to become a Holy Community corresponding to Holy Communion... "to set the world ablaze." (Luke 12:49)
We're so encouraged some parishes conduct IGNITE monthly (GO). Some of these leaders, and many who were part of our early IGNITE's, have expressed a desire to experience the early roots of IGNITE... they've asked us to "light the fire again." Accordingly, now with a multitude who have been engaged in LIT Groups (GO) throughout this region, we're lighting it up. And we're inviting you to be an instrument of setting this place on fire. Register and invite!
You can anticipate an impactful, short testimonial, followed by procession to the Burning Bush with candles, worship led by Brendan O'Rourke (worship leader for Damascus/CYSC, our earliest worship leader in "the south"). Confessions will be heard throughout, and we'll have prayer teams available throughout and after. So...
