With the magnificent unveiling of Spring, our kids have gotten back into running. Last week one of our sons asked to use the gadget. He wanted to check the temperature. Of course, my wife had to press the obvious: "Why don't you just step outside the house and find out for yourself?"
Isn't this the truth? We yearn for real connection, but are captivated by artificial distraction. And yet He is the Answer to our deepest aspirations. Right now. Flesh and blood. His Real Presence. Holy Communion.
Yet consider: How many drive by His Real Presence through the course of a day, ever going from "here" to "there" without really getting anywhere? How many of us walk among family members, captivated by gadgets in hand, experiencing relational disconnect?
He is here. Grace is being outpoured. He's inviting us to open our doors to Him. He's inviting us to become real disciples, beyond fad into faith, beyond fleeting conviction to all-in commitment.
He made us for this. He offers this. This world needs this.
This is a "burning bush" moment. The past is gone. The future is not yet. God is here. Join us in putting a flag in the sand for Jesus Christ. Let's rediscover the transforming impact of Him alive in our hearts and homes.
