HOLY TRINITY'S STORY
Parishes are a lot like families. Members are given to one another for for ever-greater love. And such love can not be contained. It overflows. Like families, parishes face the challenge of confusing busyness with blessedness. With so many activities, members may bump into one another, even frequently, without really encountering one another. Without really growing deeper.
Without experiencing the Holy Community that gives witness to the Christ's presence in Holy Communion.
Like every parish, Holy Trinity of Assumption's story is unveiling. But something awesome is evidently happening. In spite of many priestly demands beyond the parish, Fr. Mike Dandurand is mission-focused. He and team are evidently uniting and engaging the community in becoming and making disciple makers. They are evidently growing in both depth and number.
How is this happening? Among other things, in spite of the usual fears, doubts, awkwardnesses (etc.) that beset many of us, an ever-increasing number are leading small, faith-sharing groups in their homes on a weekly basis. At present over 130 are engaged!
What difference is it making? Reports from Holy Trinity and many other LIT Groups use words such as: "Life-changing." "Transformational." "Saved our marriage." "Exactly what we needed to 'live it' after mass and faith events!"
How did it happen? While there are many factors, we (Mass Impact) were helped lay the foundation. We began a couple years ago by leading a three-night PARISH IGNITION. From that we were able to identify and form a team of LIT GROUP LEADERS. These have grown so much and, in spite of their initial reservations, are now beautifully leading their own groups!
Where's this going? By God's grace, those who participate in their respective groups will not only be profoundly blessed by continued outpouring of grace, at some point they may be moved to take the step... to become leaders. Much like the Gospel, in this case 12 has become 130, which will become.....
This is how we build the Kingdom!
