LIVE IT WEEK 1

BILL'S STORY: Catholic Program Junkie to Living IT

Bill is an inspiring, faith-filled husband and father. He's been a committed Catholic his entire adult life. He's active in his church. And he's participated in "every Catholic program within a 100 mile radius."

While these programs have powerfully impacted Bill's life, something began to nag at him: "What lasting difference is this making in my home life? Am I merely going from one 'new and exciting program,' one 'God-fix,' to the next? Have I become a Catholic program junkie?"

God answered his prayer. A few days later, while walking out the door to yet another program, his wife pressed him, "You know I'm delighted you're pursuing God... but when does this start to happen in our home? You spend hours with good people, and I support that time, but when's the last time you spent meaningful time with us? When's the last time we've had meaningful prayer time as a family?"

Then the knock-out, "Sometimes I feel like all these programs are keeping you from us... your escape from making it happen here!"

Bill got involved with a LIT GROUP... a small group committed to "not another program, a way of life in Jesus Christ." They meet weekly homes to share and pray based upon subsequent Sunday readings (using the Live IT Gathering Guide). There Bill received the vision and confidence to lead his family in his own home. He and family members of all in his group encouraged one another to do the same. They describe it as "transformational", or "game-changer."

This week Bill and many throughout this region are beginning a 7-week season of LIT GROUPS. We're inviting you to join us. It concludes with a region-wide, all-are-welcome IGNITE: LENTEN EDITION evening of witness, word and worship on Tuesday, March 20, 6:15pm at LOURDES UNIVERSITY, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel.
