| Touch of Jesus by Beth Stephanie received this note and was given permission to share "if it helps others to see the beauty of our Lord!”
I wanted to share with you how your family has been part of my story.
I remember attending the ACTS retreat with you many years ago. Shortly after we returned from retreat, your family was leading an IGNITE at my parish. I was still struggling with a lot of stuff.
Near the end of the night, Greg stood up and shared that one of his daughters [had a word that] there were people present who didn't know or believe that God loved them. I was sitting there thinking that I didn't know how He could possibly love me. But I was also amazed that she could possibly sense this. I felt like he was talking to me that night.
Fast forward to an ACTS retreat at Adoration as a team member. While I was sitting with Jesus that evening, I was praying about all of my insecurities and feelings; that I could never be good enough in God's eyes. I started hearing the David Crowder song "Come as You Are" going through my head and was reminded of that night at IGNITE. I could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit telling me that I would always be enough. I began sobbing and felt someone place a hand on my shoulder. I had no idea who that was, except Jesus. I will never be the same and I am so glad for all of the people that God has placed in my life.
Your family will always hold a special place in my heart for helping me to see that all encompassing love that God gives to us. Always, No. Matter. What.

GOSPEL | Matthew 21:33-43 Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people: "Hear another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a wine press in it, and built a tower. Then he leased it to tenants and went on a journey. When vintage time drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to obtain his produce. But the tenants seized the servants and one they beat, another they killed, and a third they stoned. Again he sent other servants, more numerous than the first ones, but they treated them in the same way. Finally, he sent his son to them, thinking, 'They will respect my son.' But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and acquire his inheritance.' They seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What will the owner of the vineyard do to those tenants when he comes?" They answered him, "He will put those wretched men to a wretched death and lease his vineyard to other tenants who will give him the produce at the proper times." Jesus said to them, "Did you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes? Therefore, I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit."

with JOHN MICHAEL TALBOT Today, we hear this parable of Jesus, who is portrayed as the keeper of the field. He keeps sending people out, and they face hardships, abuse, and even contemplate killing the owner. Then, he quotes this wonderful scripture from the Old Testament: "The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone of the whole structure." Jesus, of course, is the cornerstone of the entire church.
Now, let's consider two important aspects here. First, have you ever felt rejected in your life as a Christian, maybe even as a priest, or have you seen congregations not accepting their priests? The Church offers numerous situations where we might experience rejection. But here's the good news: if you walk in Jesus and remain faithful to His calling, none of your efforts are in vain. The word of God never goes out void; it always accomplishes the will of God. So, while we may face rejection in this life, our actions can still lead to great, positive impacts for people we may never even meet.
Secondly, we are the living stones in the spiritual temple, and Jesus is the cornerstone. When we walk in Jesus, He becomes the measuring stone for the entire foundation, setting the orientation for the apostles and the prophets. We build upon this structure, placing our stones squarely on what came before, neither veering too far to the right nor to the left. This conservative yet progressive approach ensures the stability of the foundation. We must place our stones where no stone has been before, but it works because Jesus is the Cornerstone.
So, ask yourself: Is Jesus the cornerstone of your life? If you ever feel rejected, don't despair. Work on things that need fixing, repent if necessary, but remember that if you stand with Jesus, who was rejected and then resurrected, you too will find resurrection. That's my prayer for all of you. I love you, and remember, with God, all things are possible.
