Recently I was at an event attended by hundreds of good believers. Fr. John Riccardo invited us to consider whether we're a thermostat, or merely a thermometer. In so many words, are we in the game, or on the sidelines? Are we followers of Jesus Christ, or merely fans?
I wondered. Of all these really good people who know what's at stake in the world, who know at least one person in need of more fully knowing God's love, what real difference did the talk make? How many were merely moved, and how many would actually move?
