Every autumn my imagination is haunted by the likes of The Lord of the Rings. The changing seasons whisper of a greater drama unfolding—a battle not just seen in headlines but felt in the depths of our souls. It's a clarion call to band together, to recognize the unseen forces at play, and to forge bonds of missioned friendship that will carry us through the challenges ahead.
This past week marked another step in our own fellowship. Three groups of couples embarked on a five-week journey in our home, delving deeper into our shared identity and mission within the Holy Trinity. At the core it's so much more than a fleeting program limited to a space and time. We're about forging authentic, missioned friendship on the journey into eternity.
We're inspired by Fr. Scanlan's vision of households on the campus of the Franciscan University of Steubenville. These contributed to saving the flagging campus by breaking down the "get lost int the bigness"; they were capacities for every individual to be truly known and to know. Households ignited a movement that continues to resonate worldwide, proving that such profound community is not confined to a college campus or a fleeting season. It's a way of life—a testament to what we are inherently designed for: living in communion, journeying together, and embodying the very nature of the Holy Trinity.
Our Men's Prime Rib Night further solidified these bonds. Amidst good meat, the warmth of a fire, great beverages and cigars, we shared stories, prayers, and insights. Dave Vacheresse from Annunciation Radio illuminated our evening with wisdom forged from years in the spiritual battlefield, offering guidance that bridges generations. These gatherings are more than events; they're lifelines that strengthen our resolve and deepen our connections.

Mark your calendars for November 8th through the 10th for our Second Annual SANCTUS Weekend at Our Lady of Lourdes in Toledo. We'll begin with an IGNITE on Friday, followed by an all-family conference Saturday in the morning thru early afternoon. Then Sunday evening we're hosting a first-ever event for our esteemed "golden sages"—those over 50 with the wisdom of years and the legacy of children and grandchildren—to come together and be blessed by Peter and Deb Herbeck.
We stand on a battlefield that demands courage, unity, and faith. Let us not walk alone but shoulder to shoulder, hearts aligned with our Creator and with one another. Your prayers and support are vital as we strive to anchor ourselves in Christ, experiencing His transformative grace flowing from the Mass into every facet of our lives.
