Giving Thanks
The season for giving thanks begins and we here at BPML have lots to be thankful for. At the top of the list is you, our patrons. We appreciate your use of our services and how you let your neighbors know the great and free things that happen here.

We appreciate our new staff. After a long summer of scrambling around, we can finally take a breath. Laurie Finke has joined the Adult Services team, and Megan Phan and Annie MacPherson are manning the Children's desk. We welcome them and look forward to their contributions to our mission.

We appreciate those of you helping with our two upcoming fundraisers.
  • Dining for Dollars is coming up on Thursday, November 8th (11:30 am–10:30 pm) at Bertucci's in Newington. Show the flyer or mention the library fundraiser, and a percentage of your tab will be donated to the library... lunch, dinner, and even take-out!

  • The First Annual Baubles and Bling Sale debuts on Saturday, December 1st (10:00 am–3:00 pm) at the library, with gently used jewelry of all types up for grabs.

We appreciate the Kensington Garden Club for their beautiful work all year round, but especially for their Veterans' Tree and Christmas displays.

We appreciate our weekly volunteers. Without you, we couldn't keep up with shelving, holds and weeding.

We appreciate our Friends of the Library and the Board of Trustees. The Friends work at the Used Book Sale and return the profit to us. If you've ever taken out one of our Museum Passes, you can thank a Friend. Our Board of Trustees is spearheading the fundraisers. They also make policy, support the budget and do outreach on our behalf.

I personally want to give thanks for the entire library staff, including our custodians and substitutes. You challenge me, make me smile and say yes to my plans and ideas. Who could ask for anything more?

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
