Berlin-Peck Memorial Library • February 2019 Newsletter |
|
As I write this, we have just gone through our first major snow/ice event of 2019 – but sources tell me there are only 52 more days until spring!
Beat the Winter Blues
And here's some exciting science news. Scientists have found a brain circuit that could explain seasonal depression! Why do I bring this up? To remind you that we have "happy lights" to either use at the library or check out to help with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) that troubles many people during the winter months.

Outback Steakhouse Fundraiser
Thinking about a Valentine's Day dinner, but not on that crowded evening?
Visit Outback Steakhouse on the Berlin Turnpike between 4:30 and 8:30 PM on Tuesday, February 12, present this flyer (show on phone, print, or pick one up at the library) and Outback Steakhouse will donate 15% of the proceeds back to the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library's Children's and Teen Departments. Applies to dine-in or takeaway. |

Help Us Improve!
If you didn't have time last month to complete our very short survey about library services, could I ask you to please take a couple of minutes to do it now? We want to make Berlin-Peck the most accommodating place for our residents and with your input we can accomplish that.
All the best,
Helen Malinka Library Director |
