Warm Thoughts for June

As I’m writing this, I’m trying to think “summer”, but Mother Nature hasn’t been cooperating. Our summer reading plans, however, haven’t been thwarted by the weather, but by staffing. We recently lost one full time and one part time staff members to new opportunities, which has set us back a bit in our planning.

All departments will have their programs in place by June 19 with new incentives and prizes – so look for a special summer eNewsletter coming to your inbox soon!

And if you’re looking for reading suggestions, check out our new MyLibrarian feature. Just fill out a quick questionnaire about your likes and dislikes, and you’ll get a personalized reading list from whichever Berlin-Peck librarian you choose. These librarians are voracious readers and love sharing their favorites with you. Even our custodians use them!

Lastly, many patrons have asked, “Why are you showing such great movies only during the day!" To that end, we will now be showing several on Monday evenings as well. "Hidden Figures" will kick it off on Friday, June 2 @ 1pm and then again on Monday, June 5 @ 6:30pm. The film is rated PG and lasts a little over 2 hours. We hope you can take advantage of TWO opportunities to see this wonderful movie! Pick up a copy of our summer movie brochure at the circulation desk.

Thinking warm thoughts,
June!
