What is a Family Healing Session?

The Family Healing Session is one of the most advanced and effective tools available at this time in family counseling and coaching. It is especially helpful to remove blocks that prevent healthy communication and connection within the family. The family healing sessions are most successful in creating more harmonious and loving relationships. They also support the resolution of longstanding conflicts between parents and children. Ideally all family members, parents and children alike, participate and gain a new foundation of open, honest sharing and greater love. It has been said by many who have participated in our Family Healing Sessions, that this experience was equal to and greater than several years of therapy! Click here to read more.

Does Your Family Struggle with Codependency?

What exactly is codependency? How can healthy relationships go bad? Can we really get too much of a good thing? Codependency, or relationship addiction, is the topic of this week's new IHF blog. Robert Tucker, IHF Director of Outreach and Communications, shares about the dangers of the "super best friend" and explores strategies to help the relationally-needy person avoid the dangerous trap of enmeshment and unhealthy dependency on another person. Often times, this issue has roots in unhealthy family dynamics. Does a member of your family struggle with this problem? Read the article on our website.

In a 4 to 7 vote, Miami-Dade chose to reject the ordinance drafted by Commissioner Sally Heyman. This is a major victory for the family's right to choose what is right for their child!

Connecticut and Nevada Latest States to Ban Therapy, Christopher Doyle Speaks Out

Chris Doyle, ex-gay proponent of SOCE therapy and himself a licensed therapist, provided The Christian Post with a statement Thursday denouncing the passage of the bill. "While the vast majority of states continue to vote these bills down, unfortunately, the children in Nevada are the latest victims of political correctness gone wild at the hands of liberal politicians and gay activists," stated Doyle. "No child should be denied the right to get the therapy that fits their values, and no parent or family should be told they must accept that their child is gay or transgender if they believe their son or daughter has underlying trauma that may be causing these unwanted feelings." “While gay activists continue to get cheap victories in liberal states like Connecticut, the ones that are losing are vulnerable young people who are conflicted and confused about their sexual and gender identity, some of whom arrived at their confusion due to sexual molestation,” said Doyle, who has fought liberal bans against reparative therapy across the country. “So now, the state has raped them again: first, at the hands of their abusers, and second, at the hands of ignorant politicians who know nothing about mental health or the young people whom they are supposedly protecting,” he said.
