| There is no Greater #GivingTuesday Contribution than Investing in a Life!
As we take a moment to pause this Holiday season, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing support of the International Healing Foundation (IHF). For twenty-five years, IHF has offered one-on-one counseling for individuals struggling with unwanted same-sex attractions (SSA). Our counseling addresses the developmental, familial, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of healing unwanted SSA, and our four-stage protocol for healing is spreading to countries around the world as we continue to teach and train counselors, pastors, and lay people how to love those who experience SSA.
Throughout the course of counseling, those who experience unwanted SSA are taught the meaning of their same-sex desires while we help them heal wounds, all the while coaching them to receive unmet love needs in healthy, non-sexual relationships with same-gender friends and parents/mentors. Many clients that have successfully completed our therapeutic process have gone on to form loving, committed marriages with an opposite-sex spouse!
Let me introduce you to Nathan. Nathan came to IHF two years ago with a lot of pain and hurt from a past filled with family and personal struggles. He became conflicted with same-sex desires that left him hurting and confused when he was an adolescent. But with the help of IHF, Nathan has made great progress! Here’s what Nathan had to say:
“Two years of my life were spent pursuing gay relationships, and were fraught with bouts of depression and a seemingly unquenchable desire for comfort, which I sought in the arms of other men. When I decided to pursue therapy with IHF, my skepticism could scarcely have been stronger. However, as the months progressed, Mr. Doyle helped me to locate, treat, and—most importantly—heal the emotional wounds that I had suffered in my youth and adolescence. He has helped me to overcome the unwanted same-sex attractions that I have struggled with for years, and I am much happier because of it.” |
| Nathan
has given us permission to tell his story, and as you read this, an
independent filmmaker is producing a full-length feature film
documentary about the work of IHF and clients like Nathan! The film will
follow myself and Nathan as he undergoes therapy for one year, and will
give viewers an inside look at the transformation of IHF clients like
Nathan! I believe this film will be a powerful testimony to show people that healing is possible! The photo on the left is from a 2014 interview in The Baltimore Sun that Nathan and I were featured in.
But
we could not help clients like Nathan without the support of people like
you! Nathan is just one example of the work IHF has been doing for 25
years. Every day, we are swamped with calls from people all over the
world, much like Nathan, but we often have to turn them away because of
the lack of necessary funding to bring on more staff who could assist
those who need help.
We need to hire and train new staff so that people can experience the healing that Nathan has felt. Will you help us?
During
this this time of year, the struggles of those with unwanted SSA are
amplified as they see those around them celebrating the season with
spouses and significant others. Our desire is to bring hope to those
where there seems to be no hope.
Your generous contribution
will be a gift of hope to all those who come to IHF seeking healing.
IHF is a 501c3 non-profit organization, so all donations are fully
tax-deductible.
On behalf of those who will be impacted by your
#GivingTuesday gift, we thank you!
Blessings, |
