Whether or not you acknowledge it, in every moment, you have a deep KNOWING about what feels right for you.
It's just a sense within yourself about what you prefer.
Don’t override that knowing.
Really, don't.
When you know something, but you deny it or pretend you don’t know, you land up in painful situations.
To make good decisions, you need to take what you know seriously, and listen to it because here's the thing ...
You are the expert on you.
Society trains us to look to external sources to know what to do.
When we need information, we go to a teacher or the Internet.
If we’re sick, we go to a doctor.
When we need comfort, we go to our parent or partner or friend.
There’s nothing wrong with that, but problems arise when we listen to others instead of ourselves and trust their knowing more than our own.
When we consult fashion magazines to see how to dress regardless of whether it
makes us feel good.
When we listen to experts about what our child needs, even though it doesn’t feel comfortable.
When we get the ‘right’ job and live in the ‘right’ place and say the ‘right’ thing, even though those things make us feel bored or depressed.
Society doesn’t tell you that you’re the only world expert on yourself—but you ARE.
Think about it.
Nobody else on this entire planet knows what it’s like to be you.
Only you know how you feel about something.
Only you know whether something is pleasing or painful for you.
You’re the only one who lives inside your body, who’s experienced your history, who
has your thoughts, memories, hopes, dreams, and desires ...
The people who love you often think they know what’s best for you, but they can only make suggestions.
You are the only one with the expertise to say what’s right for you.
It’s crazy that we let anyone other than the world expert on our life decide what’s best for us.
If you say Yes to yourself, you are Open to what you know, and you can accept that You are the only expert on your life and well-being, then the world is truly your oyster.
The life you're longing for, starts with YOU.
If you loved yourself, what deep knowing would you let yourself listen to now?
