"How are you?" my friend asked me yesterday.
"I'm practicing what I preach." I replied.
"That's great", she said, "How are you doing that?"
"I'm only offering my amazing practitioner's course once this year." I told her feeling both proud and scared.
"I was feeling pressured about time and I want to really enjoy what I'm doing. I love this course so much. The practitioners' journeys are profound and magical. I want to be able to be fully present for the experience."
"I asked If I Loved Myself and my answer was, I'd give myself permission to do it just once this year. So I'm listening to me. I'm following my bliss."
Each time I make a decision like this;
to take a bit longer with publishing my book,
delaying a course start date so that I feel fully prepared,
choosing to run my 7-month CPD training only once this year...
it's a big deal for me.
I'm getting better at it though.
Because I've learned something very important.
I've learned where the bliss lies.
And I'll tell you, it DOESN'T lie in doing more.
It DOESN'T live in increased productivity, or being impressive, or exhausting yourself by being the one everyone can rely on.
It lives in the places your quiet inner guidance shows you.
This is such a different message from the go-go-GO of the mainstream world.
BUT I refuse to buy that message anymore.
I no longer choose to believe the world will come crashing down if I take a bit longer to do something.
I do not accept the fear that I have failed at something if it's not 'perfect' (whatever the heck that even means).
The whole of Chapter 2 in my new book is about how the world shapes us to please others rather than listen to ourselves.
It's so normal for us we don't even see it happening most of the time.
School, parents, religion, fashion, health industry, marriage, parenting, capitalism... each of these paradigms and institutions has something to say about exactly how we 'should' be.
And if we don't do it their way, we are 'failing'.
So tuning inwards and listening to what YOU want to do, IS a big deal.
Sometimes I feel frustrated and impatient with myself for still finding it difficult but then I remind myself, "Have you read chapter 2 of that book?!"
The thing I find SO helpful is to have this community. This gathering of souls who are daring to listen to our inner guidance.
We are normalising this new way, of finding your bliss and listening to it.
Yay to us!
I want to remind you that you are doing just GREAT!
No matter how much or how little you manage to live your life the way you dream of, the fact that you even think about it is already a big step forward.
We're all cheering you on.
And if you are a therapist, doctor, physio, OT, healer of any kind, PLEASE do yourself and the world a huge favour and join my course where you will learn how to find your bliss and follow it right in the midst of your busy life - while being part of an encouraging community who will cheer you on the whole way.
You finding your bliss will help EVERYONE in your life!
And, as I said, this course is only available once this year.
Right now is your chance. Registration is open and Early Bird discount ends on 27th March.
