Subject: Doubting yourself sucks!

And I have an announcement...

Doubt, doubt doubt!

(and an announcement at the bottom of the email)

You know that moment when you’re standing in front of the open fridge and you know what you should eat but you know what you want to eat and you have to decide what to do...

Or someone just invited you to their special birthday event but it's in a smoky, loud restaurant with a whole lot of people you don't know and it's the last thing you feel like doing but they'll be really hurt if you say no and they're standing there waiting for your response...

Or your parent or partner has just said that annoying thing again and you have to decide if you’re going to react...

Those split-second moments of choice are tough! Because you kind of know one choice is more self-loving but you’re not really sure… and you don’t know if you can choose the one you'd prefer to.

You almost do but then you get scared, “What kind of person does that? How will they react? What will it mean?”

So you think, "I can't do THAT!" and you rationalize all the reasons why you can’t.

That moment where you really want something that might be controversial, seems to be a cue for the chorus in sequinned leotards and feathers to dance onto your mental stage singing their familiar lines loudly:

You can’t do that

What will people think

You can’t just do whatever you want

Don’t be selfish

What if you fail

What if it’s the wrong choice

What if you regret this later

This will disappoint them

They won’t love you anymore…

Under that sort of pressure, it really doesn’t seem like a big compromise to just go along with something, to keep the peace. “It’s not such a big deal this one time…” you say to yourself...

And if you say that over and over, compromising on what you really want to choose just becomes a way of living.

It’s true that it’s not such a big deal to do it once in a while, but when you do it too often, things usually start to go badly - life feels pointless and blah, things seem hard and joyless, you feel anxious, you have less energy, you become ill...

When we doubt ourselves

and we doubt our choices

and we doubt what we know

and we doubt that our truth really is our truth

and we doubt that we have permission to be who we are... our life gets stuck in unhappy places.

Following my recent free training, some people asked me to please run a workshop on how to overcome their doubt in their decisions and daily choices and I thought, "What a darn good idea!"

Because I see doubt tripping people up all the time.

If you are TIRED of being a slave to doubt, save this date and time so you can join the workshop.

Saturday 30th October 2021

16:00-20:00 Africa/Europe, 08:00-12:00 Mountain Time, 07:00-11:00 Pacific Time

It's going to be an empowering and uplifting live Zoom workshop.

We will deep-dive into:

  • How to KNOW when a decision is the right one

  • How to skilfully manage the doubt

  • How to make choices you feel good about and don't doubt later

You'll bring a decision you are currently facing and will practice your new skills on it so that you leave the workshop clearer on what your next steps are and more confident to carry them through.

I'll send you more info and a link to sign up next week!

I send you this "I love myself" letter every Wednesday morning so that in the middle of the week you get a loving reminder to listen to your own Truth and ask yourself the Love Question!
