Like so many people, I have been exploring the world of AI.
It's really quite something to suddenly have all these little helpers around to do the tedious tasks...
I mean the AI programmes are the little helpers.
This week I needed to hand in a multiple choice questionnaire with a submission so I gave ChatGPT the course content and asked it to create one.
Within seconds it did.
I asked it to adjust the level of difficulty of the questions and within seconds it did.
Truly this is something that would have taken me about an hour to do myself - and a lot of thinking and assessing...
So this was like a miracle to have it simply done for me.
I used it today to help someone create a clear, concise social media profile.
Again it was like magic to have something so professional put together in seconds.
Afterwards I was thoughtful.
I know many people are afraid that AI is the end of creativity - and there is something to that.
AI is not good at creating - it's only good at collating what is already created.
The best description I have heard, is that AI is like a very efficient and very stupid assistant.
It will do everything you tell it to do, and it'll do it efficiently, but because it doesn't understand the material, it can sometimes make very silly mistakes.
You have to check everything it brings you very carefully and fact-check any research it presents.
Because it is taking all its information from the internet after all...
But today, as I helped this person create their profile by asking what they want to say and who do they want to impress and what sort of work so they hope to attract...
I realised something very cool.
Because it will do any task you give it without understanding what it means,
You need to be VERY clear in what you tell it to do.
Which means...
YOU have to be clear about what you want and how you want it.
What a surprising thing!
AI is making us MORE INTENTIONAL.
I have to explicitly tell it what my objective is, and what tone I want it to be in, and what I want my message to convey exactly, and what I want the outcomes to be,...
And for all that, I need to have asked myself about what I want first!
And that's what self-love is founded on.
So, just a thought.
Yes, AI is a huge change in our daily lives and I've seen startling ways people are using it, both good and bad...
I'm not inviting the whole AI debate and conversation here.
I just wanted to say that...
This one thing...
It's pretty cool in my eyes.
If you loved yourself, what would you ask for now - and how would you ask for it?
