Subject: Can you ever recover?

It can be hard.

 Breaking the cycle

People often ask me, "WHY is it so hard to love yourself?"

It really does seem weird, doesn't it?

That we don't just naturally love this precious being that is us.

But the reality is that even though we are born knowing how perfect and wonderful we are...

Our caretakers are our guides in our early life.

And if they were wounded by their own life experiences...

And if they didn't know about self-love...

Or they were told they weren't lovable...

Then they passed all that down to you.

They didn't know better.

Even when it looked like they did - or that they should.

They didn't.

If they had known better,

They would have done better.

Most of the time people are doing their best.

But just because someone is dong their best, it doesn't mean their efforts are very good.

Or that they meet your needs with their efforts.

So, if you grew up with toxic caretakers or have had toxic relationships...

You need to learn how to love and look after yourself from scratch.

And it's possible.

Many of my clients will tell you its possible.

You just need love and support and tools.

You can end the cycle of self-hate or self-doubt.

The  Toxic Parent Recovery Summit.   my friend Dr Meg Haworth is running this week is still open for you to sign up for if you know you need more support for healing your pain.

It's for free.

I'm one of the speakers, talking abut self-love after abuse.

I hope you sign up.

In the meantime...

Be gentle with yourself as you grow and learn.

You deserve it.

And remember, you're not alone in this journey of healing.

If you loved yourself, what would you say to yourself about your healing journey now?

Sign up for the summit.

It's free and the experts who are speaking are amazing.
