A quarter of the way through 2021 already - and in many places things are starting to look up. Hopefully the vaccine will see a return of travel and business will pick up.
In March we focused on Money, because we know it is front of mind right now, especially for our freelancer cohort. We held a great webinar on making money as a colorist, with a range of industry names - if you missed it, you can watch it back or read the great advice. Warren interviewed Bob Festa for the latest episode of the Color Tour podcast and they also discussed working through good times and bad.
The topics of rates, charging and clients keep coming up as people try to navigate the volatile environment - it was one of the most energised sessions at the last Mixer, and we are sure it will come up at the next one. We are really looking forward to seeing many of you again at the Virtually Vegas Mixer on Saturday April 17 - it's less than three weeks away, so make sure you get your ticket. Sessions will cover monitors, remote and cloud working, the 'new normal' , grading tricks, and estimating your time on a job with talks from Eric Whipp, Lynette Duensing, Dario Bigi and more - see the full schedule.
Many of you expressed an interest in learning HDR and ACES/color management - there are lots of classes available, both live - with Abelcine, or on color design; Resolve; Color science & calibration - and on demand on HDR & Resolve 17. If you have time on your hands, seize the opportunity to upskill while you can.
See you at the Mixer if not sooner! Stay safe and stay colorful, Team iColorist Send us a message |
