Welcome to a new ICA newsletter.
Where has the year gone, we are nearly half way through 2019! I has been a busy first half of the year with all the ICA trainers grading a wide variety of projects. Never before has so much content got the benefit of a color grade. The challenge for us a Colorists is to convince producers that a calibrated room and monitor is a must for a proficient grade. You can cut a feature film in a coffee shop using a laptop, the same cannot be said for the grade of the same movie! The second half of 2019 is shaping to be busier on the training side. Kevin and I will be in China again in July running classes in both Beijing and Chengdu. Details. We are then partnering again in Bogota, Colombia for the first ever ICA classes in South America. Congo Films have a fantastic film school and are really looking forward to hosting our classes. The ICA will then be focused on the 2nd ICA Colorist Summit in Hawaii Oct 5th-13th. The Summit will offer smaller 1 and 2 day classes, leaving spare time for RnR. We have secured some great room rates at the Sheraton Princess, Waikki Beach. Full class line up and all Summit details coming soon.
Remember that any ICA trainer is available to run private one on one training at your facility. Warren and Kevin.
See you soon.

I arrived in Vegas on Saturday afternoon after running ICA classes in both Burbank and Brooklyn with AbelCine. This meant jetlag had already been dealt with, I even thought about going to the afternoon Flamingo pool party! Saturday night saw me catch up with friends from home at the Aussie/Kiwi/APAC evening at the Paris casino, great to see so many guys and girls making the long trip. Read more |
