One sleepless night…

Martha Grow is an artist calligrapher in the iCreateDaily community. Martha periodically posts some of her wonderful work to virtual oohs and aahs and applause.

In the past, Martha mostly shared creations using other people’s quotes and poems. More recently, she’s shared some of her own, and it’s wonderful!

Her poetry is so well done and presented in calligraphy form that I assumed Martha must first  write or type out her words to get and then create them artistically in the calligraphic form.

But when I asked her about that, Martha said, 

“No, It goes on the page as my thoughts come.”

Wow! As a writer and editor who always makes many changes and edits, (digital erasures, scratch-outs, etc.), I find it truly amazing that Martha can write from mind to page into art form with such excellence.

I suppose that’s an example of the foundation of many years of practice. 

So keep on learning and growing into your art, you’ll never regret it and your craft will grow richer over time.

We’ve added Martha’s Purple Patches calligraphy an poem on violets in the iCreateDaily article on Purple Flowers. Her incredibly well done piece on ramps (wild leeks) has been added to our gardening website at the end of this article on ramps, and her Food for Thought poem has been added to our fitness website!

We look forward to featuring increasingly more audience work on our various media properties in hopes that it will inspire others as it has us. And, in hopes that it may bring the contributing creators some fans over time.
