The seasoned poet and writer, rarely stops with their first version. Rather, they massage it and mold and coax into being more.


If they're growing in their craft, they will often return to previous work, even work that's only months old, and see improvements to make that were previously unnoticed. Often even the next day.


Same thing with the seasoned artist, who carefully, lovingly, meditatively refines her piece until she places the last stroke of color to her canvas. Or the last chink of the sculptor's chisel, removing what doesn't below.

It’s also the same for us in our personal development. We aren’t one and done. We are ever evolving, ever growing more fully into ourselves, growing pains and all. 


The more we embrace the growth, the less we feel the pain.
