Young in the Game
We toddle at any new thing we try. And like the toddler, we need to not give up and keep trying until we get it.
When we’re new at anything, we as a child in that thing, and as such we can forget to apply the seasoned wisdom of maturity—of patience—to that new thing… those new lessons.
We forget to be kind and patient with ourselves as we would be with the children who is learning. And... to keep on going and trying.
We’re in a hurry to get where we want to go... to be there already… to have our vision and our dreams NOW.
Imagining the toddler running so fast that their body gets ahead of their feet. They tumble and cry... then they get up and get going again.
We can too.
Are we there yet?
Anyone who’s ever been on an extended trip with kids, knows the childhood trip mantra: “Are we there yet?” The other one is, "How much longer?"
Creators new to the idea of creating the life they want to live often feel that way about the challenges of their new venture. Impatient. Hopeless. Futile. Impossible. Too much to do. It's taking way too long.
It can seem that there is a mountain between us and our goals. But there’s more than one way to the other side of the mountain, and you will get there if you keep on going with sights set on your daily goals and your end destination.
Creativity is a wonderful invisible force that is to teach us about our capacity to manifest. Not just a work of art, but a life. Ours.
One step at a time… one day at a time… one goal at a time, the day is the way to create the life you want to live.
The day is the only way. Today is that day. Make it count.
