Yesterday we had fun at a local garden! The garden is on seven acres and this year they began creating a Japanese garden.
The garden director, Josh, talked about how he designed the garden to have a bamboo entrance separating it from the rest of the garden space. Josh wanted anyone who stepped into the garden to feel refreshed and revived.
The art of Japanese Gardens is about using plants and natural elements to reflect other natural features, but on a smaller scale. Their aim is recreating nature, using nature, in the most natural and minimalistic way possible. Painting with nature! #Meta.
It's wonderful to see how different cultures weave their philosophy on life into their different art forms. And it's always inspiring to learn from other creators! While we're not going to create a Japanese garden (yet), we're always using the nature around us for inspiration. What’s something you’ve learned recently that you’ve been able to apply or would like to apply to your creative practice and/or life?
