Message in the Moments
Shannon Schofield shared this lovely vignette, observation and discovery. Finding the big in the small… the messages and learnings in the moments of life.
We can aspire to make small, that which seems big and overwhelming, and to make big, moments of presence with much to teach.
"So I woke up to some drama this morning! I heard the birds chirping but it wasn't the usual sweet morning songs. This was drama! Crows were going nuts. Then I heard why.
An owl was hooting! I went out to see it cos I used to watch Jerry springer and there was serious drama unfolding. There were 3 crows in a triangle around the owl. I couldn't see the owl.
It was still dawn and the owl was deep in a leafy tree. The crows were flying around in a pattern. The owl just sat there and hooted a little.
I had to grab my phone to get a video. Of course they were gone when I got back. I wished the owl luck and went to make my coffee.
My mind kept saying "pay attention to the drama. Watch what you do. Watch what they do.' Am I the owl? I sure hope so. I'm not squawking at anyone.
That voice in my ear is constant these days. A simple "pay attention" is enough to get my attention.
I may not always understand what I'm paying attention to. But this morning it was obvious and in my face 🤣 I sure hope the owl makes it and is no longer harassed by the crows.
It felt.... big! It seemed small but darlin it felt big!

"You don't always have to learn the way you always have. You can learn in small, quiet ways as well, and often with a great impact."
