When we’re younger, we often think things like, “When I get older, I’m going to (do, be, not be like…)."

What we tend to forget is that in this moment and every moment, we are getting older.

Now this isn’t about fretting over getting older. Not at all. Rather, it’s about realizing that our future self begins here and now. S/he relies on us to implement our intentions from this moment forward.

Not in frenzied, erratic ways, but in a steady rhythm and flow of daily life.

We do not become more graceful with age unless we invoke a glad grace in the present.

We do not become healthier with age, unless we care for our temples now… the temple of the soul on earth: the physical, emotional and mental bodies that house us — the real us… spirits that we are.
