“One man’s weed is another man’s wonder food.”
~Dawn Jackson Blatner, dietician
Yesterday, I accidentally posted in the iCreateDaily for Creators Facebook group, an article intended for our gardening website.
When I didn’t see it on GardensAll’s Facebook, I realized what must’ve happened, so went to delete it from iCD and post it to GardensAll
But there were already several comments to it on iCD, so I left it there and then also posted it to the GardensAll Facebook as well.
I perked my ear at the interested and interesting dandies conversation in iCD and thought an intentional dandelion post would be fun to share here with iCreateDaily creators.
DANDY DANDELIONS!
Considered an annoying weed by many, did you know that every part of the dandelion is edible and medicinal? In fact, it’s one of my favorite plants for food and medicine, such that we’re growing them on purpose.
I know Shannon is too, and loves them so much she commissioned fellow iCreateDaily member, Janet Davis Pitt, to paint the dandie girl above.
Anyone else growing and/or using dandelions?
How about painting or drawing them or writing dandelion poems? Have you written any, or would you like to? You may enjoy some prompts to play with for words and/or art… or food!
PROMPTS:
Pick a dandelion flower and munch, or make a dandelion leaf salad and toss in a flower or two.
Reflect on this bright little unpretentious plant with so many benefits to offer.
Write a dandelion poem or quote. If there are enough contributions we’ll publish a dandelion poem/quote article.
Enjoy creating whatever comes to mind in your preferred medium.
Transformation through creation.
