A Special Message from the President: Two upcoming opportunities that I’d love to have you join!

A SPECIAL MESSGAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Friends,

We are living in days filled with change and uncertainty. But for us as Christians, there are certain things that have never changed and will never change. Here at IBLP, we are trying to seize the opportunities that God is giving us to present the unchanging truths of His Word to the world.

Join us for new Men’s Prayer Summits!

Throughout the Scriptures we are exhorted about the crucial importance of prayer in our lives. We know that if we want to see change in our nation, in our families, and in our individual lives, we need to be earnestly seeking the Lord in prayer.

In light of this, I would like to invite any fathers and sons to join us at one of the Men’s Prayer Summits we’ll be hosting this fall! These events will be held November 21–23 at our Big Sandy, Oak Brook, and Northwoods campuses simultaneously.

That particular weekend happens to be shortly after the U.S. elections and right before the Thanksgiving holiday, making it an excellent time to focus our hearts on thanksgiving and intercessory prayer. We want to make this as accessible as possible for families, so the cost will be $60 per person for the entire weekend! You can find more information at familyconferences.org/mens-prayer-summits.

Our free teaching series is expanding—subscribe today!

You might remember that we began a free teaching series called Matters of Life & Death in January 2023. Each Tuesday we send out an article about the nature and character of God, and each Thursday we release a short biography of a faithful person from history who inspires us to embrace the power of Christ in our lives.

I personally have been blessed by this series, and I know many of you have been encouraged as well. Now, starting this fall, we are expanding this series to address another major topic: covenant marriage.

In our own generation, the Biblical family is coming under tremendous attack. Gender confusion, widespread divorce, and fatherless homes have become commonplace rather than the exception. Marriages in churches, between professing Christians, also follow a sad trend of rising divorce rates that mirrors that of the world, showing how the salt has lost its savor.

But one of the primary reasons our marriages are under such diabolical attack is because God intended marriage to be a glorious picture of Christ’s relationship with the Church—His spiritual family! It only follows that our enemy (Satan) would seek to weaken or destroy our earthly marriages that are meant to reveal Jesus to the world.

I’d like to invite you to join with me in grounding our understanding of marriage firmly upon the truth of God’s Word. Every Saturday, starting in October, we will send out a free article that will examine some aspect of marriage aimed to be helpful for those preparing for marriage, for those who are currently married, or for those who have experienced brokenness in marriage.

We realize that receiving three emails a week might be a little overwhelming for some of you, so we’ve created a sign-up form for you to choose exactly which components you’d like to receive:

  • Tuesdays — Attribute of God

  • Thursdays — Short Biographical Sketch

  • Saturdays — Covenant Marriage

The covenant of marriage ought to be and can be one of the strongest testimonies that God’s Word is faithful and that His ways are best! Christ Jesus our Lord loves His Bride, the Church, and He gave Himself for her. He loves her faithfully, and she honors Him joyfully. When our marriages reflect this beautiful relationship, we present to the world an example that points to our Lord Jesus and His covenant love for us.

I look forward to joining alongside you as we seek the Lord together this fall. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 903-636-2000 or reply to this email and we will get back with you as soon as we’re able.

In Christ,

Timothy A. Levendusky
