THIS WEEK ON THE COMMANDS OF CHRIST PODCAST
Bonus Episode: “Embracing An Enemy”
This week we are honored to have special guest Roger Helle join the podcast! While Roger is a highly decorated Marine, he shares how his life was not what you would have expected it to be.

Raised in a dysfunctional home by an alcoholic mother and a distant stepfather, Roger had set out at a young age to prove his value and to find acceptance. At seventeen, he joined the Marines and by eighteen he was on the battlefield fighting in Vietnam. Roger quickly came to find that what he thought would bring value and acceptance turned out to be a living nightmare!

In this unforgettable episode, listen to how the miraculous power of God delivers Roger from his greatest fear and empowers him to love the very ones who sought to kill him!

Roger and his wife Shirley have served in multiple ministry capacities. Roger was the Executive Director of Teen Challenge and has ministered with Vets With a Mission for several years. In addition to multiple speaking engagements, including the Pentagon and the National War College, Roger has written a book entitled, A Time to Kill, A Time to Heal. The Helles have been married since September 9, 1972 and have two children, a son, Joshua, and a daughter, Jamie. They are also the proud grandparents of five grandchildren.

We pray that in this episode you find hope and courage as you look to Jesus in each trial that comes your way! As usual, you can find this bonus episode on your favorite podcast platform such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon, or Stitcher, as well as our YouTube channel or the Home Discipleship Network website.

Earlier this month, our focus was on the command Judge Not. When we judge others based on our own opinions, we are putting ourselves in the place of God and are in danger of being judged! God is the only good and righteous Judge. It is for this reason we must allow Him to re-calibrate our inner sense of justice to match His heart, His Word, and His law.
