Toccoa Family Conference, May 23-27, 2017
The Toccoa Family Conference begins next week! Nestled in the beautiful hills of Northern Georgia on Lake Louise, the Georgia Baptist Conference Center is ready to give a true taste of Southern hospitality to all who attend the conference. The best messages from the Big Sandy Family Conference will be selected and a few speakers who were not at Big Sandy will join us in Georgia. These live speakers include favorites such as Otto Koning, Peter Magnuson, and Jobe Martin. They, as well as others, are coming to share their messages with you at the beautiful, peaceful Toccoa Family Conference location! Discounted early registration closes tonight, May 16, at midnight. For more information, you may visit familyconferences.org. At the door registration will also be available.
Encouragement in the Midst of Stormy Weather
“Trust in the Lord” was the theme of this year’s Big Sandy Family Conference. Many families heard life-changing messages, enjoyed heartwarming fellowship, and attended the available practical workshops. Also, there were new speakers, such as Tim Tomlinson and Scott Pauley, who joined the line-up of others who are long-time favorites. One person who has attended Family Conferences for many years stated, “The conference last week was truly a blessing for me, and I know for so many others. The theme for this year really ‘hit the spot’ in my life: always learning to trust the Lord more each day!” Another family stated, “This was our fourth conference and is truly a blessing!”
Experiencing God's Power in Prison
From across the United States, approximately 50 volunteers excitedly gathered recently to conduct the Journey to the Heart program for the incarcerated. Four correctional institutions welcomed the workers. Of the four prisons, two were adult male facilities and two were female facilities, totaling an estimated 190 inmates. This outreach and in-depth discipleship not only positively benefits the inmates, but it also impacts the correctional staff.
