During the recent Prison Journey to the Heart in March, it was thrilling to see God doing an awesome work in hearts and lives. The Lord opened the doors of four correctional institutions for the Journey staff, along with approximately eighty volunteers from across the United States, to conduct Journeys for the incarcerated. Attending the event were approximately 250 adult male, female, and youthful female offenders. The goal of Journey to the Heart is to facilitate a way for people to get away from the busyness of life and meet Christ in a way like they never have before. Our desire for those that come on the Journey is that they would experience and receive the love of God and be encouraged to pursue an intimate relationship with God in response to His love. Normally young men or young women or moms or dads come on Journeys by themselves but for the first time we are hosting a Journey where the whole family can come together! Learn more. . . |

One day while teaching at Indiana State University, Dr. Larry Guthrie was informed that his book publishing record was insufficient; he would be terminated. However, God had given Dr. Guthrie a keen understanding of the world of nature and a remarkable ability to capture the attention of audiences as he explained life principles from the world of nature. As a former research assistant and writer for IBLP, he worked on such publications as Character Sketches and Eagle Story. He also wrote science and medical curriculum materials; his work over the years has involved instructing young people, especially in showing them God's character as revealed in nature. Now his writings are worldwide, being read and enjoyed by millions of people. He and his wife, Lois, have been married for over 40 years; they have two married children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Guthrie will be speaking at the Northwoods Family Conference, June 5-9, 2018.
