In Christ, we have been given victory over sin. And yet, how many of us live with that victory mindset? Instead of focusing on sin and our wrong habits that cannot be overcome in the flesh, we can believe the truth that as believers we are sinless in Christ and we do not need to continue to fail.

Honor Marriage

“And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”

God created us first and foremost for a relationship with Himself. When our relationship with God is where it should be, then our relationships with others will be what God intended them to be. The significance of this is highlighted in what Jesus said in Matthew 19:4–6.


The Pharisees were tempting Jesus by asking him if a woman could be divorced for “every cause.” Jesus knew the religious leaders’ hearts were hard—they dishonored marriage, and they were looking for a way out of upholding God’s Law. He answered them by pointing them straight back to the Creation account in Genesis, quoting Genesis 1:27 and 2:24, and reiterating God’s purpose for and the permanence of marriage.


But why is honoring marriage so critical? From the beginning, marriage was actually designed to be a picture of something so much bigger—it was to be a picture of Christ and the covenant relationship He would have with believers!
