"Why didn't you ask?" Three compelling stories that inspire us to ask God for the impossible.

MESSAGE OF THE MONTH

Doing the Impossible

David Gibbs Jr.

“IMPOSSIBLE!” That’s what most people thought when they heard of the young, penniless preacher who wanted to broadcast the Gospel on nationwide television; how was he able to attain that goal? Or the paralyzed woman who longed to do something for God. How was she empowered by God to see thousands come to Christ? How can we—men and women today—see impossible goals and dreams become reality?

David Gibbs Jr. shares firsthand accounts of watching God do the impossible. He was there when the young, penniless preacher asked God for the impossible, and he watched as God answered in amazing ways. Dr. Gibbs also observed the paralyzed woman who asked for God to move mountains to get the Gospel to thousands. In this message, Dr. Gibbs shares a few simple keys to see God do the impossible in our lives today.

COMMAND OF CHRIST

Take My Yoke

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

MATTHEW 11:28–30

What does a yoke have to do with finding peace and rest? The answer does not lie within the yoke itself; the answer is found in the One to Whom you can be yoked. Jesus’ command in Matthew 11:28–30 is to come to Him, take His yoke, and learn of Him! Why? He is our peace. He is our rest. He is the Son of God Who has made a way for us to live in a right relationship with God! God never designed you to live apart from a personal and intimate relationship with Him. The command to Take My Yoke is an invitation to exchange your life for Christ’s and allow Him to have complete control over you. True peace, rest, and joy can only be found in an abiding and intimate relationship with Jesus!
