The Rewards of Being Reviled!

Being reviled is not a pleasant experience. Yet Jesus commands us to rejoice and be exceeding glad when all kinds of lies and false statements are spoken against us. (See Matthew 5:11-12.) The cause of this rejoicing is the great rewards that reviling can bring—both in this life and throughout eternity. Without a clear understanding of these rewards we can tend to become discouraged and even bitter when we are vilified.
