THIS WEEK ON THE COMMANDS OF CHRIST PODCAST
A Two-Part Bonus with Dean Kershner!
It’s such a blessing to have Dean Kershner join our podcast! From sharing the gospel to a former communist professor in Russia, to giving a Bible to a waitress at a local Chinese restaurant, these episodes are packed with precious stories and practical insight from Dean’s 30 years of experience in missions.

What do you think of when you hear the word “missionary”? Do you need to go to a foreign country? Do you need to have formal training? Or do you need to learn a foreign language? Unfortunately we tend to stereotype missionaries leading us to define mission work unbiblically. You won’t want to miss these episodes as Dean Kershner biblically defines mission work, shares precious stories, and gives practical insight on learning to be a missionary as God defines it!

While you may know Dean for his gifted ability to dramatize heroes of faith, such as Vanya or Hudson Taylor, he has also had the opportunity to invest in God’s Kingdom all around the world. Dean’s international work began in Moscow, Russian in 1992 where he served for five years. Dean and his wife currently work with Gospelink, a ministry that supports indigenous preachers financially, educationally, and practically. Dean has a contagious passion for the gospel and incredible stories from his experiences!

We pray that these episodes will bless you and that you will be encouraged as you listen to this special two-part bonus:

Part 1:
“‘Cooking Class,’ Culture Class, or God’s Class?”

Part 2:
“What’s a Missionary?”

As usual, you can find this bonus episode on your favorite podcast platform such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon, or Stitcher, as well as our YouTube channel or the Home Discipleship Network website.

These bonus episodes are a great way to wrap up our command focus for July: Pray for Laborers. Participating in God’s mission doesn’t start with going somewhere far away — it starts with prayer! Without God’s work in preparing and sending out laborers, our efforts to reach the lost are futile. It is our responsibility to pray, but it is God Who equips and sends laborers into His harvest.
