Greetings Friend,
In your current reality you are experiencing so much change. Just in society alone things are rapidly changing, from politics to societal trends/norms to technology, it seems as though there is something new happening every day. Even in your own life personally, you are experiencing a hyper sensitivity to emotions, stress, worries and can seemingly “feel” others around you.
How do you bring yourself to the present moment when it seems like the world around you and IN you is moving at the speed of light?
You practice mindfulness.
You practice the art of being present in this moment of now. Reading this email, feel your chest and diaphragm expand and compress with each inhale and exhale. You practice the act of being in your body, feeling your toes, feet, shins, etc. all the way up to the top of your head. You feel your fingers on the laptop as you type, the suds between your fingers when you wash your hands or your face in the morning.
As you do all of these tasks throughout your day, no matter what may be going on, you remind yourself to BE HERE NOW as Ram Dass would state.
The present moment is what you have right this second. The past is over and the future is yet to be created. You learn to let go of what is stopping you from moving forward, which you will find comes in the form of your sensitive emotional state, the fears of your future, financial status and feelings of not being good enough.
When you practice mindfulness all of those thoughts slowly begin to fade. I challenge you to practice being present, mindful of everything you do for ONE DAY and let me know how you felt, write it down, log it and if you feel called continue for the rest of the week.
