Assalamu Alaikum, Friend,
You might be used to the humorous rhetoric that is usually dispersed around our newsletters.
This time, however, we have to be serious.
In less than 24 hours, we'll know the name of the 45th President of the United States. We'll know who will hold the most powerful office in our country for the next 4, maybe even 8, years.
This person will bring with them their policies, their character, and their ideas. They will also bring with them their worldviews and perspectives.
Now, as a 501c(3) organization, IANT cannot endorse a particular candidate or party.
However, we can say this:
If you haven't already, please make it a priority to go out and vote. It is election day - Nov. 8th, 2016. Today, exercise your Constitutional right to have a say in our government. Today, stand in line, and make your voice heard.
Vote for a candidate that you believe is qualified to lead this country. Vote for a candidate that you believe has experience, knowledge, and patience. But most of all, vote for a candidate that you believe will support you, your family, and your extended community, and one that will serve our nation dutifully and faithfully.
The Muslim vote is strong in Dallas. Today, on the ballot, you'll also be voting for your representatives in Congress and the State Legislature. Make your voice heard in these elections.
Take time off work - you're allowed to. Drive, walk, bike, take the DART, carpool with friends - call an Uber. Today is the day. Go out, vote - grab a sticker even.
