Asalamu Alaikum, Friend,
Yesterday, hundreds of individuals gathered at IANT in remembrance of the horrendous terrorist attacks that unfolded recently in New Zealand. We joined together, and we committed ourselves to action. Most importantly, we were there to support our brothers and sisters who have been affected by this tragedy - to stand in unison and in solidarity. We sought to understand the root causes of such hatred, violence, and ignorance. And we sought to understand how we, at the individual, communal, organizational, and political level, can effect change. Now, we must go forward and take action.
To our fellow congregants and community members; to our friends from other faith groups; to the politicians, community activists, and leaders who spoke yesterday; and to all those who watched online - we thank you. We thank you for your support to the Muslim community, and we thank you for your solidarity through these trying times.
"Let us continue to work together until justice flows like waters, and righteousness, like a mighty stream." - Pastor Michael Waters
