Dear Friends:
Belated blessings on your Christmas and New
Year seasons, and I pray that in some way God was able to use this time to
strengthen you in your walk with Him as you prepare for 2022.
I want to let you know that we will be holding
another Conquer Series retreat in Waynesburg, PA on February 4-6, 2022. The
weekend starts out with a fellowship meal at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and finishes up
at noon on Sunday with lunch. As a reminder, the Conquer Series is a ten part
video presentation on the addictive nature of pornography that gives you tools
to begin the process of living in victory. It is the best material I have ever
come across in this arena, and I urge you (and your sons/friends) to come to
the retreat!
This year I also plan to present some new
material from my studies of scripture. Lord willing, this will give each of us
an even deeper understanding of true accountability and how we can be more
intentional and purposeful in that difficult area. If you’ve already been
through the series but are still stuck, come back! A second or third time
hearing the message is extremely beneficial, and who can beat the fellowship of
like minded men? Please contact me if you're interested or have any questions
regarding the weekend. The price is very affordable: $50 plus $30 for the cost
of your materials. Where else can you get two nights lodging and all your meals
for that price?
Second, for our ALERT alumni there is
potentially a short term (one month?) major renovation project in the
Pennsylvania area slated for mid-spring. Details are still forthcoming but it
would involve gutting and renovating a number of houses in a condensed time
period. The positions would be paid. If any of this piques your interest, give
me a call and I’ll put you in touch with the manager of this project.
Finally for our married Alumni, I’d like to have
you consider a two day retreat with your bride in Waynesburg, PA for a video
series called “Sacred Marriage'' by Gary Thomas. My wife and I have found this
extremely beneficial in our relationship, and in the area of communication, and
would welcome your attendance. Please note that this is not “five star”
accommodations, but rather an opportunity to get away, enjoy some great
teaching and fellowship with other couples, and enjoy a beautiful setting with simple accommodations on
Jim Butler’s property. Again, if you want to be kept on the contact list for
that event please let me know. We’re hoping to do this retreat sometime in the
month of May, 2022.
