Hello Friends,

As you may have seen, the Tech Rescue unit is deployed to Ferguson, MO, this week. Below is an excerpt from a deployment report Captain Bass sent yesterday.

"The last house we worked at was the home of Mr. Leonard Hoffman (pseudonym). He is a very intelligent Jewish man and the holder of several patents in the rubber recycling industry. When we first arrived and mentioned that Samaritan’s Purse was a Christian Faith-based ministry, he was very closed off. He was also very concerned that something he wanted to keep might get thrown away, but we reassured him that we would not get rid of anything he did not want to be discarded. As we worked and talked with him, he softened and was open to several discussions. As we were sitting around talking during a rest break, he asked where the name Samaritan’s Purse came from. He had never heard of the parable of the Good Samaritan. So one of the men relayed the story, and the rest joined in discussing it with him. Before we left, we prayed with him and presented him with the Bible we had all signed. He promised that he would read the Bible - maybe not all of it but some. Please pray that the Lord would work in his life and draw him to the Savior. The change he made over the time we were there was a miracle of the Lord."
